This finely ground hojicha powder from Kyoto offers a smooth flavor with a gentle toasty aroma. The medium roast enhances its natural sweetness, making it perfect for lattes and other drinks while retaining the warm notes of roasted green tea.
Hojicha has its origins in the Edo period when tea makers began roasting lower-grade leaves to enhance their flavor and reduce bitterness. The roasting process not only lowers the caffeine content but also gives the tea its signature warm, nutty aroma. In Kyoto, the scent of hojicha became a comforting presence, especially during the colder months, making it a familiar and beloved tea in Japanese households.

Brewing Instructions
Hot Brew:
- Sift 2g (about 1 teaspoon) of hojicha powder into a cup.
- Add 150ml of hot water (80°C).
- Whisk until fully dissolved.
Cold Brew:
- Add 2g (about 1 teaspoon) of hojicha powder to 200ml of cold water.
- Stir well until fully dissolved.
- Enjoy immediately or refrigerate.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from odors and light.
