AKKO CAFÉ x Noa Harder
Yunomi cups: 210-240mL | height: 8.9 cm | diameter: 7.4 cm
All pieces are hand-thrown and glazed in Noa Harders' studio in Brussels. Each piece is unique—because they are handmade, please note that there might be slight variations in color, shape, and size from the photos. The cups are made from high-fired stoneware, making them durable and suitable for everyday use. They are dishwasher and microwave safe, but like everything, they will last longer if washed by hand.
What is a Yunomi (湯呑)?
A yunomi is a traditional Japanese tea cup used for drinking tea. The character "yu" (湯) in yunomi means "hot water," while "nomi" (呑み) means "to drink." Therefore, it is essentially a vessel for drinking hot beverages such as tea or coffee.
One of the defining features of a yunomi is its comfortable size—it is not too large and fits well in the hand. Yunomi cups come in various shapes and styles and are made from different materials, including ceramics and porcelain.
